The people gather for solidarity rallies and demonstrate for boycotting Russia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the first and second day of the assault on Ukraine the people were bewildered and feeling helpless. Not only do many Georgians have relatives and friends in Ukraine, Georgia has first hand experience on what it means to be invaded by Putin. And they felt, that if Ukraine would succumb, Georgia is next. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2008 Putin used the very same pretext to establish two puppet-governments in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.  These two beachheads of Russian interests on Georgian territory have a disastrous impact on the countries development: the plan to join the EU and the NATO have moved to a distant future; the two renegade republics are highly corrupt and violate human rights, thus soiling Georgia&#8217;s corruption and democracy &#8220;index&#8221; and favorable access to investments.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The courage and success with which Ukraine is fighting has sparked hope, and it has dispelled the bewilderment of the first two days. The people cheer: <em>Slava Ukraini!
