For Swiss-German speaking people, Georgian (or kartuli ena) offers plenty of mnemonic aids. But also English does not fall short: “Rogor char” isn’t Roger’s car, but how are you?
But even with the mnemonic aids the language remains daunting. After three weeks I still barely manage to get along with the 33 characters of the alphabet. When strolling back home I practice on the nameplates of restaurants, cafés and shops, as they are often written in both Latin and Mkhedruli.
